about

Sample from the movie "The Nines"

This song is very inspired by the SCP Foundation wiki (www.scp-wiki.net), and is the second part of the two-part story within the album.

Upon discovering the disease-ridden graveyard in London, the man is all of a sudden approached by an older fellow, dressed in a lab coat with a name-tag that spells "SCP LEVEL 5." The mysterious man greets the protagonist by his name, expressing seemingly deep condolences for the loss of his wife and stating that he can provide a relatively thorough explanation. He cautions the protagonist, however, that any further digging for the truth will force the secretive organization to kill him, even replacing him with an individual so identical to the protagonist that even his family members would not be able to spot the difference.

The old man first explains the purpose of the SCP Foundation: "to secure, to contain, to protect" the world from the bizarrely inexplicable and even dangerous phenomenon of the world. He then describes one of these phenomena: the cancer plague, officially classified as SCP-253. He claims that there are thousands of strange "things" that this organization contains, from mutated monsters to magical items. The origins of these strange wonders stem back to the first SCP, known as "The Factory," where all of the SCPs were supposedly created.

The old man then ceases his explanation, claiming that he could not further reveal the inner workings and classified information of the organization. He simply asks the protagonist to go home and end his search, for it will only cause trouble for the both of them.

The protagonist is left alone in the graveyard, reflecting on the recent incidents that occurred to him. He continues to reflect to this day, deeply frightened of the world's unknown secrets...

lyrics

featuring Brandon Snyder (Betray Your Own)

Fate brought me to this graveyard in London,
And I’m left with so many questions,
Like why am I here?
Where do I go?
Searching for a common good to call my own,
To find answers to the unknown.
Like the reason I’m here,
And where I should go.
I am just simply searching for a meaning for everything.
Please come to me.

He comes to me with what appears to be
An explanation for my misery.
“Hide your tongue from the world,
For I can erase and replace you.”
Thus it begins.

She was the victim of a hidden disease.
It’s a cancer.
It’s a plague.
It’s something in between.
Keter-level catastrophe.
Dormant, it was laying.
Dormant, it was waiting.
Now it’s set free.
Searching for a common good to call my own,
To find answers to the unknown.
The first one is the Factory,
And there are many more to come.
Why is this happening?

Everything that I have found
Has left me here lost and confused.
May a greater being be there,
Or am I just speaking to an empty room?

Searching for a common good to call my own,
To find the answers to the unknown.
My search for the truth ends abruptly,
But I know one day, the truth will be set free.
